From the Authors: Kat and I founded Balmy Lane Press in response to my passion for the written word, which was ignited by my grandmother when I was six. The Beginning Allow me to reminisce about tranquil Sunday afternoons spent in Grandma’s company. She would gently rock back and forth, engrossed in a captivating novel…
Category: Memoir
This memoir offers readers insight into my unique journey, personal growth, and the impact of circumstances.
I embark on a journey through the tapestry of my life, weaving together the threads of experience, wisdom, and lessons learned over the decades.
Each story shared is a testament to knowledge gained through trials, triumphs, and the moments that shape us. In storytelling fashion, I pass on the insights that have been etched into the fabric of my existence.
Join me in this exploration of life, where the stories unfold as a reflection of my journey and as beacons of shared wisdom for those seeking to navigate their unique paths.
Valuable lessons learned from my ancestors, memoir-eligible, still reverberate in my mind, and I hope to have the same effect on others. Some fables were related as fact when everyone knew it was fiction. Over the years, memories and family members faded away. The next moment, that fictional story became fact and, soon after, folklore.
Bless the narrator. Memories are mental images in 3D. We relive the moments like we were there again. When you read mine, know I was reliving the moment. I hope it sparks something in you to write your story. We all have many.
Knowledge is power, but applying learned knowledge is powerful.

For the past ten years, I have lived in a quiet suburban neighborhood, where I pride myself on being a spry and spirited older individual who stays active and engaged. Throughout those passing years, I was oblivious to…
Persevere
Persevere Until the Crowd Goes Wild At this stage of my life, having faced adversity many times in the arena of dreams, I root for underdogs who defy the odds as I connect with their journey. The bouts with frustration, the lack of support from family and friends, and the heartaches vanish as they seize…
Paradise Lake
Paradise Lake Learning to swim in Paradise Lake was a distant memory in 2008 when my family took a trip to our hometown for the first time since we moved away in 1964. I rekindled a relationship with my first best friend, who admitted to being ticked off at me for the past forty-four years…
